TEAR TROUGHS

Tear Trough Filler London

Improve the appearance under the eyes.

Restores volume and shape.

Reduces the appearance of dark circles.

Dark circles are also known as a tear trough. This is a hollowing present between the lower eyelid and upper cheek which creates the appearance of eye bags or dark circles. This can make a person look more tired and older. Tear trough fillers in Ascot can fix this.

Why Do We Get Dark Circles?

Prominent tear troughs often run in the family. They often worsen as we get older which is contributed to by several changes:

  1. Thinner and more elastic skin

  2. Lack of mid face support due to a loss of facial volume.

  3. Changing shape and size of the eye socket

For patients presenting with a tear trough problem, we can now very successfully correct the problem with a careful and intricate application of hyaluronic acid fillers. By combining restoration of mid face volume with treatment of the tear trough directly, we have been able to achieve very successful outcomes for our patients.

After the tear trough treatment, you should avoid touching the area under the eyes or applying make up for at least 6 hours to help prevent the possibility of infection. More specific and tailored post-procedure care instructions will be given to you after the appointment.

Frequently asked questions

HOW DOES TEAR TROUGH FILLER WORK?

Dermal Filler in the tear trough area works by gently drawing the skin away from dark underlying tissue which is rich with blood vessels. Careful placement of filler in this area is just enough to lift the skin and create a brighter under eye, whilst adding natural-looking volume to drawn, sunken tear troughs.

HOW LONG WILL RESULTS LAST?

This often depends on the patient and the particular case that is presented. Tear Trough Filler can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. To receive the benefits of dermal filler longer term, patients will require regular maintenance treatments.

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY AFTER TEAR TROUGH FILLER?

Treatment is very swift, and side effects minimal, therefore there is no need to take any formal downtime following Tear Trough Filler.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

You may experience mild sensitivity and redness at the treated area. A cannula is used to minimise bruising, but bruising is still always possible. As with all non-surgical treatments there are risks, although they are extremely rare. These will be discussed with you during your consultation.

WHEN I SEE THE RESULTS OF TEAR TROUGH FILLER?

The initial results will be immediate, however as there will be some swelling we recommend you wait around a week to see the true result. It is also important that the area is slightly underfilled on the day as the filler will attract water and expand
